Who We Serve
The Louisiana MBDA Business Center (Center) is neither an incubator nor an accelerator. Incubators typically provide office space and access to experts for small businesses. Accelerators work with startups to provide legal and business services or help entrepreneurs turn ideas into businesses. The Center’s clients are existing businesses generating approximately $500,000 or more in annual revenue and are looking for ways to develop their businesses and increase capacity further. Our clients are U.S. companies that are 51% owned or controlled by African Americans, Asian Americans, Hasidic Jewish Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans (including Alaska Natives, Alaska Native Corporations, and Tribal entities), Asian Indian Americans, and Pacific Islanders. We focus on securing domestic public and/or private contracts and financing transactions, exports, and job creation for “eligible minority-owned businesses.”
